video 3. boys being boys. or matthew's willingness to follow 'zso'

sorry rach. guess my child will be rubbing off bad habits (ie, those taught to him by the surrogate wolves he was with before we got him) for the rest of their lives.

video 2. zsolt's roller coaster ride

video 1. matthew SO not having fun on the trucks.

the verdict...

we had a fun day :)

ps. grandpa made matthew cry when he said he wasn't coming along. just to rub that in a little more.

roller coaster

aunt joan actually ASKED zsolt if he wanted to go on more rides after the tickets ran out. of course. 3$ later he's on his first roller coaster. aunt joan crammed herself into this one only to be told that she was ....too tall... to ride this. we think this may be the first time she's ever been told this in her life. she didnt think she'd be able to get her legs unstuck from the inside. i pushed my way onto the deck to be sure that zsolt understood that he had better keep his butt in the seat or i WILL be telling the attendant to stop the ride and drag him off of it. and to make sure he knew how to hold on.

and...we actually got a few smiles on this ride! (i know, you can't see it, but just trust me on this one, i saw some)

we tried to get matthew to do this but he refused to let someone paint such a girly thing on his face as a goldfish. however, for the record... he DID play with the dollhouse today too :) (if you don't get this, ask me, little bit of a family joke..)

a few notes here. cute kid huh? would've been better had dad's camera actually focused right. and not been so pixely. that chick back there? she's doing a tarot reading. WITH A BOOK. i'm sorry, if i'm going to pay someone to read my cards, they sure as hell better have their layouts memorized. atleast the face painting was only a buck.

mr. grumpy cranky pants. we later got him to cheer up. i think it was the elephant ear.

some mean little brat of a girl tried to sit this one in with aunt joan and zsolt but i made the guy stop the ride and get her out because she was scaring my precious 2 year old half out of his mind by making this thing twirl too fast. aunt joan had asked her to stop but she didn't.
matthew was still asleep at this point. i figured it was too good to let zsolt miss, plus i didn't have a stroller and i was not going to lug a 30 (read 80) lb sleeping child across a festival. he woke up wondering if he was still dreaming by the look on his face when he saw the rides!

rach finally drug matthew out of sleep and he didn't quite have the same reasoning as zsolt did. as you can see below..

'why, why mommy did you wake me from my sleep to make me ride in this butterfly mobile?!'

exhibit a: reasons as to why we should not let zsolt drive at 16. notice the arm resting on the window, he was steering with this hand. look even closer. that's it. click on the photo. his other arm is around matthew. funny thing is, he was actually steering right.

day at gerber festival

we went with great aunt joan and nana to the gerber fest today. matthew and zsolt fell asleep in the car on the way there. by some miracle i was able to get matthew out of the car without waking up and put him into his stroller. however, that's when the rain started. we decided to wait it out in the car, but no way was i going to wake him up... i covered him up as best i could and sat in the car next to him :) mean auntie kristian

zsolt was still in the car so he stayed dry too.

aunt joan spoiled zsolt rotten today. here they are on the dumbo ride. (the same one that later broke down with rach and matthew on it...) zsolt IS enjoying himself. i know you can't tell because he never smiles, but as a mother, i know these things. his bottom lip isn't stuck out far enough for him to be pouting.
